Guys sings lithium by Nirvana on world Idol and gets a grilling from Simon Cowell. To be fair he does stand his ground quite well.
I see where Simon is coming from in a way, but still think it was a bit harsh.

Yeah uhm…it didn’t take him 9 years at all. I have no idea what this guy is saying or even hinting at. Bleach was ’89 and Nevermind was ’91 and they started recording it in the middle of 1990. Nobody laughed at the guy or Nirvana and they became a very well respected band.
Cowell had some very good points in saying that the kind of music this guy is doing {forced-as-FUCK gravel Rock/Grunge singing} does not belong on a show like World Idol.
