Peter Evrard defends himself against Cowell’s insult, that rock doesn’t belong in idol-competition. A long and strong discussion, in which Peter (who did an excellent Kurt Cobain-performance) is defended at the end by the (funny) Polish jury.

simon cowell is totally right!! kurt got to were he was by spending years touring while sleeping in his car… it was about self expression not about being famous.. this guy just wants a one million chance to be famous.. I’m sorry but I just can’t respect someone who gets it that easy…

Maybe the show’s are called pop idol in some countries, sadyy our idol only started in 2004 so we weren’t part of this competition, but over here our first winner was more of a rock chick, our third winner was a metal guy… every year there’s been someone doing more heavy stuff and less mainstream, but i guess that’s just Finland, we are called a heavy metal country after all, or maybe it’s just other countries being so damn stubborn about everything having to be horribly mainstream to sell..?

IMO I think that idol has way to many opera and pop-singers. Its getting old seeing the same rags-to-riches hulabaloo. Its pretty much vocal talent that make it to the top and its usually someone with crazy as hell pipes that sings all dramatically. Just a rant, they still have talent of course.

The performance wasn’t bad; It was AWESOME!! Simon is too used to bubbly pop stars with perfect voices, and can’t appreicate a raw, live performance by an artist who doesn’t use Auto-tune. All due respect to Mr. Cowell, but it’s people like him who make it harder for us aspiring musicians to reach the top, because of the mainstream crap he promotes.
